Wacky Wednesday

In Te Ngahere on Wednesday my School dressed up Wacky for the day and some people didn’t wear anything. Most of the girls had wigs or sprayed their hair a different color and some girls in my class were fairies with badazles on there face. All of the teachers dressed up even the men most of the teachers had tutus even the men. All of my class teachers dressed as their house group. I loved Whaea Chrissy's outfit because she was dressed in rimu and that’s my house group so go rimu. Also I like Whaea Ronnie’s outfit. I liked Whaea Ronnie’s gown on top of her costume, it was pretty. I also really liked Gina's costume because her hat was on her bun and she also had a pretty gown. I really liked Whaea Becks costume too because she made some cool cute earrings. My favourite part of Wacky wednesday was looking at all the fun and cool costumes. My favourite of all costumes was Whaea Crissy’s because she was dressed as rimu.

If you did Wacky Wednesday what would you dress up as?

The Nanogirl Science Experiments

Kia ora my name is Tiiria and in Te Ngahere we have been learning about science. We had to make our own science topic. Then we had to do research and write a method to explain how we are going to do our experiment. We had to do our variables, hypothesis, evaluation, aim and conclusion. Then we put it on our board for Nanogirl to see.

If you don't know who nanogirl is she is a famous scientist that came to our school to see our science fair projects and show us some of her experiments that she has learnt. My favorite part was to see her hold fire on her hand and to make a hypothesis to try and guess what will happen to the fire. She also made some cool ring shaped smoke made out of melted sugar.  Then she pushed one out of her ring shaped smoke and it came to us and we all got to touch the sugar ring it was really fun. The thing that really stand out for me was the part when she held fire. I learned that scientist fail and that's how they became a scientist because they never gave up and after that they achieved their goal and they made the best inventions out there. So in the future I will never give up on my goal.

Trying The Bay of Islands Science

Kia ora my name is Tiiria and I go to Paihia School. In Te Ngahere we went to Bay College to learn about science and to see there scientific experiments. When we went we had to wait at the door because they were getting ready. When we went in we learnt some science from scientists. They were talking to us about different oxygen. They did some experiments on balloons. They popped a balloon with their orange skin. They also made a very loud noise when they popped a balloon with a fire flame. We had to cover our ears because of how loud it was. After all of that we started to go and do the Bay of Islands science experiments. I have been to a different science fair before.

Have you ever been to a science fair before?

Our fun Learning About The Scientific Method

Kia ora my name is Tiiria and in Te Ngahere we have been learning about the scientific method. In this learning project I have learnt how you can search and gather information and research about the scientific method. I have also learned how to get a picture that matches something about the scientific method. We learnt this for our science projects and to understand the scientific method. I can use this in  the future because when I go to college I will already know what the scientific method is. I Think I did well with the scientific method steps because I think I showed a good pictures I think I wrote the steps out so you can understand and I think the pictures I used were showing a good explanation of the steps. I think I should work more

Our Fun PE Rotations

In Te Ngahere we have been doing PE rotations.

If you don’t know what I’m talking about I’m saying that we

are learning how to get good or learn how to play sports.

When we went to learn different sports we went in house groups.

I am in Rimu and Rimu was practising netball I was so excited because I love playing netball.

The most challenging thing was that we had to balance and when

I was balancing I thought I was going to fall.

My fun learning About Key Words And Poems

In Te Ngahere we have been learning how to find keywords in a poem.  Key words are little parts of what you want to right. So if you want to type up something long you should use little parts of it and it will come up with what you wanted to type up. It will also come up with more examples of what you wanted to type up. had to find five examples of what grinds its teeth over the grass and what spits out a thick green spray.

(My example) I chose a lawn mower for my first answer  was a lawn mower because a lawn mower grinds its blades acting as teeth to cut the grass and it spits out thick green spray. After that I got four more ancwers like animals and more things like lawn mowers. The most challenging part of this project was when we had to find five examples and make sure they have and do everything that the poem says.

I liked this subject because we got to find and learn things that do what the poem says.

Do you know anything that grinds its teeth over the grass spitting out a thick green spray?

Amazing Direction Following

In Te Ngahere we got given a paper with instructions on it. The instructions were a test for us to see if we would read everything carefully and to see if we would read the whole thing not little snips and bits of it. I thought the first instruction said “I should read it carefully” but it means I have to read all of the instructions carefully before I start the test. We had to read all of the instructions carefully because the last instruction was that we only had to do the first and second instruction and I did the instructions up to instruction 17 so I didn’t read the first step carefully. The teacher called us down to the mat to tell us if we did the test right or wrong one student almost finished it until he went back and did the rest of the instructions so none of my whole class got this test right. The challenging part was reading the test carefully. We did this test to see if we read the success criteria carefully.

Do you read things carefully?
